Stories and highlights
There's always something to celebrate at our school! From exciting events to proud moments and everyday wins, here are some of our highlights.
A year at our school
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 work collaboratively with their teachers to set meaningful learning goals.
When students are actively involved in setting their own goals, they gain a stronger sense of ownership and responsibility for their learning journey. This partnership empowers them to monitor their progress and take confident steps toward improvement.
Learning goals help students focus on what they are learning rather than simply completing tasks. They give students a clear understanding of the purpose behind their learning, where they currently stand, and what their next steps should be. This clarity supports deeper engagement, motivation, and growth for every learner.
Our amazing Senior Dance Group proudly took part in the NSW Public School Spectacular.
This event is a wonderful celebration of talent, creativity, and teamwork, and our dancers have worked tirelessly to perfect their performance. Their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment throughout rehearsals have been truly inspiring, and we couldn’t be prouder of their efforts.
Participating in the School Spectacular provides our students with an incredible opportunity to develop their skills, build confidence, and experience the thrill of performing on a big stage alongside other talented young artists. We know their hard work will shine through in every step, movement, and expression—captivating the audience and leaving a lasting impression.
Our Year 6 Student Leadership Team organises a Teachers vs Students sports game each term.
These games are a wonderful opportunity for students and staff to come together and celebrate teamwork, sportsmanship, and school spirit.
At the end of the year, either the students or the teachers are awarded the overall trophy—adding an exciting sense of fun and friendly competition to each match.
NSW PSSA Athletics Championships at Homebush
Ten of our students proudly represented our school at the NSW State PSSA Athletics Championships. It was an absolute pleasure to watch each athlete give their very best—achieving personal bests and demonstrating our school values of Respect, Achievement, and Responsibility throughout the competition.
A special congratulations to:
- Liam L, who broke the 8-year-old boys’ 100m heat record and went on to win the final, becoming the State Champion.
- Lila L, who competed in the Junior Girls Long Jump and achieved an impressive 3rd place.
We are extremely proud of all our students for their commitment, determination, and sportsmanship.
A big thank you to our wonderful PE teacher, Mr Frazer, for his dedication in supporting and training our school relay teams.
HPG Maths Olympiad
Our HPG students in Years 5 and 6 participate in weekly Maths Olympiad sessions designed to strengthen their critical thinking and problem-solving skills. During these sessions, students work together in a supportive environment to tackle complex mathematical challenges and deepen their understanding.
This year, the team achieved outstanding results, placing in the top 30% of participating schools. We are especially proud of the four students who ranked in the top 10% nationally, as well as the six students who placed within the top 25% percentile band.
Congratulations to all our students on their impressive achievements!
Book Week
Book Week is always a much-loved celebration in our school community. Throughout the week, students enjoy a variety of activities designed to foster a love of reading, spark imagination, and celebrate the joy of storytelling.
Classrooms come alive with shared reading experiences, creative tasks, and discussions about favourite books and authors. One of the highlights is our colourful Book Week Parade, where students proudly dress up as beloved characters and bring their favourite stories to life.
Book Week is a wonderful reminder of the power of books to inspire, connect, and ignite curiosity in every learner.
Grandparents Day
Grandparents Day is a treasured celebration in our school community, giving us the opportunity to honour the special role grandparents and grand-friends play in our students’ lives.
Families are invited to visit classrooms, share in learning activities, and enjoy performances that showcase the wonderful talents of our students. The day is filled with smiles, conversation, and connection as children proudly share their school experiences with the people who mean so much to them.
Grandparents Day is always a heart-warming event that strengthens family bonds and highlights the importance of community in our school.
School Discos
Our school discos, proudly organised by the P&C, are always a highlight for students. These fun-filled events give children the chance to celebrate with their friends, enjoy great music, and share lots of laughter in a safe and well-supervised environment.
We are grateful to our dedicated P&C volunteers, whose hard work and enthusiasm make each disco a memorable experience for our students.
