In 2015, the NSW Department of Education issued schools with a new resource package titled: "Strengthening family and community engagement". The package addressed the following areas:
- Communicating;
- Connecting learning at home and at school;
- Building community and identity;
- Recognising the role of the family;
- Consultative decision - making;
- Collaborating beyond the school; and
- Participating.
These materials were reviewed by Cromer Public School Council. Elected parent and staff representatives and the appointed community member agreed this was a valuable resource and decided to undertake a project to explore the range of services and support agencies that could be brought together in a readily accessible way to assist families. It was decided to place the information onto the school website under the following categories:
- Community Engagement;
- Disability Services;
- Education;
- Family, Relationships, Parenting; and
- Health.
Each heading is hyperlinked to the organisation's website which will provide additional information.
